Sarajit Gupta is an English educator with more than twelve years of classroom experience. He holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from Jadavpur University and a B.Ed. from WBUTTEPA. Having taught over 2,500 students from more than 40 schools across Kolkata, he guides ICSE, ISC and CBSE students in Classes VI–XII, with a strong focus on literature, grammar and examination-ready answer writing.
His teaching combines close textual analysis, focused grammar practice and guided answer writing. His aim is to help students understand deeply, express themselves confidently and perform consistently in examinations.
Teaching philosophy
Effective teaching is not merely about completing a syllabus or preparing students for examinations. It is about helping learners understand ideas deeply, think independently and express themselves with clarity and confidence. English becomes meaningful when students engage closely with language and literature and learn to write with accuracy and purpose.
My classroom combines close textual analysis, guided discussion, visual explanation, focused grammar practice and regular answer writing. Students are encouraged to move beyond memorised responses—to identify themes, analyse characters, appreciate literary techniques, support interpretations with textual evidence and structure their answers logically. Grammar and composition are taught as practical tools for precise, mature and effective communication.
Excellent examination performance remains an important goal, but education should leave a lasting impact beyond marks. I aim to develop thoughtful readers, independent thinkers and confident communicators who are prepared not only for examinations but also for life beyond the classroom.
